Journalist based in New York.
Hi! I’m Ann-Marie Alcántara, a reporter currently back in New York after spending the past five years in San Francisco. Currently, I work at Adweek, where I focus on digitally native brands, ecommerce, and retail. You can also find my work in The New York Times, The Lily, Inman News, Anxy Magazine, SF Sounds, Hoodline, and more.
In my time at Adweek, I’ve moderated panels for Fiverr, Activate Collab/18, and at Brandweek: a Challenger Brands event. I’ve also appeared on the Adweek podcast, Yeah That’s Probably an Ad and regularly appear in a variety of Adweek videos.
In a past life, I used to cover consumer tech, internet and geek culture at POPSUGAR. Before that, I worked at The Bold Italic, BuzzFeed, and Mashable. Many moons ago, I graduated from Vassar College, with a degree in Environmental and Urban Studies.
